Welcome to the website of the First Georgia Volunteer Infantry, commanded by Colonel James N. Ramsey. My book on this interesting regiment, I Will Give Them One More Shot, Ramsey's First Regiment Georgia Volunteers, is under contract with Mercer University Press in Macon, Georgia, and is scheduled for release in December of 2010.  I continue to welcome genealogical information, letters, diaries, photographs, etc. My ancestor, William Henry Marshall, served in the Dahlonega Volunteers, Company H of the First Georgia.
