George Winston Martin was born in Northern New Hampshire, resided for thirty years in Florida and now calls Western North Carolina home, along with his wife Cathy and daughters Alicia and Amanda. Martin has pursued a lifelong interest in family genealogy and the War Between the States. He participated in American Civil War reenactments for eighteen years as a member of the 7th Florida Infantry (recreated). He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach, Florida. The son of his great-grandfather's brother served in the First Georgia Volunteer Infantry, subject of "I Will Give Them One More Shot".
